Description

Forwards a memo and petition from the Church of England Clergy against the proposed cessation of the public grant that supplemented their stipends; encloses a letter from the Attorney General, and a copy of 'An Act to regulate and readjust the Public Grants in aid of the Ministers of Religion no.27 1869'. The petition is signed by Charles P K Coombe, Rector of Sandys and Southamption, J Lumley Lough, Rector of Paget and Warwick, J Lightbourn, Rector of St. George, George Tucker, Rector of Hamilton and Smiths, and Mark James, Rector of Pembroke and Devonshire.
