Chesterfield to Cumberland, enclosing a letter from Captain Delosne at Calais on the difficulties he is experiencing with the exchange of prisoners. The king will not allow his natural-born subjects the benefit of the cartel, and this has been agreed by the French court. Hanoverians captured at Raucoux must be exchanged, or the king will exchange no more prisoners. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 35, 36
