Report of John William Rose, Recorder of London, on 1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (2 people) on behalf of Hannah Wynn, convicted (indicted with Mary Davis alias Mary Hudson as an accessory; acquitted; she was - at the time of the petition - in Newgate for a different crime) at the Old Bailey in April 'last', for stealing 11 yards of silk ribbon, value 7/- (elsewhere 1/-), property of Thomas Hammond and Edward Colyer/Collier, haberdashers at Holborn Bridge. Evidences supplied by Edward Colyer/Collier, ----- Turner, shopman, Ann Southall, maid and Samuel Singleton. Grounds for clemency: first offence, previous good character, promise of future good behaviour, was drawn or duped into the crime by Davis a 'vile woman', and the prisoner was brought up by parents of good character who are now much distressed and 'afflicted'. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: no mercy.
