Report of John William Rose, Recorder of London, on Thomas Warner, convicted (with George Bath, William Bateman and Michael Doyle) at the Old Bailey[?] in February 1787, for stealing a wooden boat (or 'Wherry'), value £8, property of Thomas Williams, a waterman and lighterman at Blackwall in Middlesex, on 20 January 'last'. Evidences supplied by Thomas Williams, Charles Clark, Tide Surveyor of Excise; George Hinkley, Josiah Child, 'officer' and the prisoners. Grounds for clemency: already spent over 2 years in gaol. Initial sentence: not given. Recommendation: to enlist in HM. Navy and to find sureties for good behaviour for the time equal to remainder of his sentence.
