Report of John William Rose, Recorder of London, on a favourable report by Richard Pepper Arden, on behalf of Thomas Salmon, porter, convicted at the Old Bailey in April 1788, for stealing 10lbs of cardamoms, value £6, property of the Messer's Grote. Evidences supplied by Mr Elliot, clerk to the prosecutor and Mr Stupner, servant of the prosecutor. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: no mercy.
