Description

Certificate/memorial of John Skynner and William Henry Ashhurst on those capitally convicted on the 'last' Midland Circuit, respited on 'favourable Circumstances' and recommended for mercy on the conditions set against their names:

Nottinghamshire Summer Assizes

1. John Fisher and George Rhodes, for highway robbery, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

2. Joseph Foster, for stealing heifers, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

Lincolnshire Summer Assizes

3. Ralph Smith, for house breaking, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

4. George Heath, for house breaking, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

5. William Smith, for horse stealing, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

6. George Beach, for sheep stealing, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

7. Martin Blanchard, for killing a sheep, recommended to 7 years transportation to America.

8. William Boyal, for stealing a lamb, recommended to 6 months hard labour in the house of correction.

9. John Birkett, for stealing bullocks, recommended: to a free pardon.
