Northern Circuit report of James Eyre on William Elwen and Thomas Watson alias Wilson, convicted at the Durham Assizes on 12 August 'last past', for felony and horse stealing. Grounds for clemency: reprieved on 'favourable circumstances' appearing on their trials. Initial sentence: not given. Recommendation: 3 years hard labour on the River Thames.
