Report of Francis Burton, Deputy Recorder of Oxford, on Ann Edwards, convicted at the last Michaelmas sessions, for a grand larceny. Grounds for clemency: the judge received verbal representation from the mayor and bailiffs of Oxford in favour of the prisoner and that she has behaved remarkably well under the sentence. Initial sentence: privately whipped and confined to 6 months of hard labour in the house of correction. Recommendation: to provide sureties for good behaviour for 12 months.
