Order of the Kings' Bench issued on receiving the report of Duncan Campbell, Superintendent of the convicts on board the Censor and Justitia hulks on the River Thames concerning John Jennings, convicted at the Old Bailey for grand larceny, on 28 June 1780. Grounds for clemency: the 'oldest prisoner' has suffered a long confinement and has behaved in a very orderly manner. Initial sentence: 5 years hard labour on the Thames hulks. [?] Recommendation: mercy, the prisoner to be given decent clothing at the time of his discharge.
