Order of the Kings' Bench issued on receiving the report of Duncan Campbell, Superintendent of the convicts on board the Censor and Justitia hulks on the River Thames concerning William Abbott, convicted at the Herefordshire Assizes[?] on 10 May 1781. Grounds for clemency: prisoner has behaved well and has shown great marks of reformation. Initial sentence: a capital respite, sentenced to 5 years of hard labour on the Thames hulks. Recommendation: mercy, the prisoner to be given decent clothing at the time of his discharge.
