Report of Richard Burke, Recorder of Bristol, on the case of Richard Hill, convicted at the Bristol Assizes, on 30 March 1784, for feloniously stealing a mare, value £14, property of William Makeam. Grounds for clemency: reprieved by the court on several unspecified circumstances that appeared on his behalf. Initial sentence: death. Recommendation: 14 years transportation.
