Report of Richard Burke, Recorder of Bristol, on the case on Jeremiah Leary and Thomas Jones, convicted at the Bristol Assizes, on 30 March 1784, for feloniously breaking and entering the dwelling house of Benjamin Montague at night time and stealing his goods and chattels. Grounds for clemency: reprieved by the court on several unspecified circumstances that appeared on their behalf. Initial sentence: death. Recommendation: 14 years transportation.
