Letter from W. Mainwaring, Hanover Square, to Evan Nepean, on several letters received from a prisoner named Potter, convicted on 2 March 1783, disputing that his term of sentence has expired. Mainwaring has clarified the situation by informing that the prisoner's sentence does not expire until 2 March 1784. The papers will be at hand when the time arrives for Potter to be released. Grounds for clemency: none. Initial sentence: 12 months imprisonment and to pay a fine of £500. Recommendation: not to be released before term of sentence expires.
