Letter from James Adair, Recorder of London, enclosing several lists of (97) convicts all for transportation to Africa. The judge refers to 'the late Act of Parliament' concerning transportation and sets out the wording to be used in regard to each list. There is great detail pertaining to the movement of orders and pardons to be issued.
List 1:Convicts already sentenced to be transported to Africa and not requiring a new order
John Martin, Jermiah Hurley, John Petre, William Richardson, George West, Henry Horne and Mary Humphries.
List 2: Convicts pardoned on condition of serving for life in the Kings Corps of Foot on the coast of Africa. Have returned before the expiration of their transportation sentence terms, thus breaking the condition and remain under sentence of death. Require new pardon on previous condition
