Description

Report of James Eyre on John Roberts, convicted at the Suffolk Lent Assizes in 1783, for a highway robbery and stealing 9 /-, property of John Whittal, at a place near Rodbridge [Redbridge], on 1 June 1783. Evidences supplied by John Whittal and Nathaniel Lalley. Grounds for clemency: Has served more than 6 years and behaved well whilst in prison. Initial sentence: 7 Years transportation. Recommendation: free pardon.
