Report of Nash Grose on Michael Gough, convicted at the 'last' Lancashire Assizes, for stealing a quantity of wearing apparel (simple larceny only), from an unnamed female. Grounds for clemency: following an investigation by 'a Gentleman of Credit & Fortune' the judge has decided that the sole witness was 'mistaken as to the Person of the prisoner'.
