Report of James Adair, Recorder of London, on David Davy, convicted at the Old Bailey on 26 April 1786, for receiving several coach chaise and phaeton wheels, property of Wright & Co. There are 2 certificates, from John More, chemist to the King, and Thomas Arnold, surgeon, attesting to the prisoner's poor health (combined with his old age, 60 years) and the likelihood of death if the sentence is carried out. Grounds for clemency: ill health (asthma). Initial sentence: 14 years transportation. Recommendation: to give security for life.
