Report of Francis Buller on 1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (4 magistrates, from Worcestershire) on behalf of Hannah Taylor, convicted at the Worcestershire Lent Assizes in 1783, for stealing 28 ells of flaxen cloth from 'the Bleaching Grounds'. The judge states that the prisoner's sister committed perjury at the trial. Grounds for clemency: was impressed with the fairness of the trial, has served 31/2 years in prison, and the petitioners are those 'most attentive to the Gaol + the Prisoners in it'. Initial sentence: 14 years transportation to America. Recommendation: free pardon.
