Report of John Heath on Paul Page convicted at the 'last' Lincolnshire Assizes for breaking and entering (in the daytime) and stealing 38 guineas and some silver from William Gascoyne. Grounds for clemency: 'some favourable circumstances'. Initial sentence: death, reprieved in order that opinion of other judges could be sought on a point of law (the judge concluded the conviction was 'proper and legal'). Recommendation: 7 years transportation.
