Southern Africa. 3 copies of a map (of territory now chiefly in Botswana and Zimbabwe), showing a proposed railway line between Mafeking (now Mafikeng, North-west province, South Africa) and Bulawayo, and territories that the British South Africa Company proposed to give to Chiefs Khama, Sebele and Bathoen. Scale: 1 inch to about 38 miles. Based on a map supplied by the three Chiefs to Sir Charles Warren, 1885; prepared by the British South Africa Company. Pencilled additions to item 5 showing the Rivers Nata and Shashi, and part of the boundary of Khama's territory, as originally proposed by the Colonial Office. All items originally enclosed with a letter from Dr F Rutherfoord Harris, 26 October 1895.
