'East Africa Protectorate [now Kenya]. Plan of Mombasa Island. Provisional': 2 copies of a map. (1) Showing government and railway land, land leased to private owners, and land in dispute. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 600 feet [1:7,200]. Compass star. MS additions, coloured, marking European, Asian and African areas; pencilled printing instructions for a smaller-scale printing, [presumably item 2]. (2) Revised version, incorporating the additions shown on item 1. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 1,200 feet [1:14,400]. Compass star. First proof copy, produced at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton. Marked: 'CO No. 17', and stamped: 18 December 1913. Dimensions: (1) 96 cm x 79 cm; (2) 53 cm x 45 cm.
