Description

2 items (formerly filed with a print of despatch number 38, 15 January 1877) extracted from CO 879/19/10 (folios 333-334). Gold Coast (now Ghana). 2 sketch maps. (15) 'Map of Newtown': showing the supposed ruins of the Dromokroom, the declared site of the boundary with the [French] Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire), and the position of a small lagoon. Scale: 1 inch to 60 yards [1:2160]. (16) Map of the area around Newtown, showing the existing and proposed Anglo-French frontier. Reference key to boundaries. Scale: 1 inch to 5 miles [1:316,800]. Both items lithographed by Dangerfield, Covent Garden. Dimensions: (15) 32 cm x 44 cm; (16) 31 cm x 44 cm.
