Compiled from the best available sources': (Transvaal is now in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Northern and North-West provinces, South Africa). [By] the Intelligence Department. Signed: S Melvill, Surveyor General, Transvaal, 1 August 1881, and initialled [?by members of the Commission].
