Based on surveys by Captain Sir E Belcher and Lieutenant Gordon, Royal Navy, 1849; further surveyed by Lieutenant Connor, 1883, and by Staff Commander Douglas and Lieutenant Grant Dallion, Royal Navy 1885; lithographed by Malby and Sons; published at the Admiralty, 22 September 1886; minor corrections to November 1898. Unexplained MS additions, coloured. Originally relating to a specification of the Beaufort - Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu) Railway, [by] George Pauling, 6 October 1898.
