Two sketch plans of Fort Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), drawn to accompany the Commanding Royal Engineer's letter no 2 of 12 January 1854 to the Inspector General of Fortifications concerning the formation of a ramp at. Shows most of Fort Colombo. (11) Shows the south-east part of the fort: named bastions; Ordnance and private buildings. Scale: 4.5 inches to 600 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by John Isaac Hope, Lt Col CRE, 12 January 1854. (2) Shows the Infantry Barracks and Rotterdam Magazine. With a section. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. Signed by Hope, 17 December 1853. Dimensions of sheets: (11) 33 cm x 37 cm; (12) 42 cm x 56 cm.
