Ceylon (now Sri Lanka): Colombo. 'Section of the Tunnel, as originally designed shewing the necessary reduction to be made in the Country Carts, to admit of their passing each other'. Also shows proposed enlargement of the tunnel. Scale: 5.7 inches to 20 feet. Signed by W C Phillpotts Lt RE, 23 August 1853. Originally drawn to accompany letter of 25 August 1853 from John Hope, Lt Col CRE, to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
