China: Ichang (now Yichang). 2 pictorial maps and a section. (2) Section of the site of a proposed British settlement, with measurements; explanatory note. Based on item 3. (3) 'Copy of Chinese plan of proposed site of settlement at Ichang': showing buildings, fields, the [Yangtze (now Chang Jiang)] River and graves; marking specific points mentioned in the lease. [Possibly traced from item 4]; by Mr W E King, Consul for Taiwan. (4) 'Chinese map of the city and environs of Ichang...': showing houses, temples, bridges, hills, human figurejunks and the river; annotated in Chinese. MS additions, coloured, in English, showing the site selected for the British settlement, March 1877. Dimensions: (2) 31.8 cm x 40.1 cm; (3) 37.6 cm x 83.1 cm; (4) 63.5 cm x 126.2 cm. Items 3 and 4 originally accompanied the lease of the site.
