Turkey. 'Carte des environs de Constantinople Publiée au Dépôt Général de la Guerre D'après des relevés exacts et des reconnaissances militaires très récentes. Paris, 1829': map showing the area around Constantinople (Istanbul). Scale: 6.6 inches to 21 miles; scale bars also in myriametres, leagues ('lieues communes de France') and hours' travel on foot. Longitude based on Paris. Originally lithographed by A Desmaretz; published by Picquet, quai Conti, Paris; this version photozincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1876. Unexplained MS addition, coloured.
