Turkey. 'Hasty sketch of Adrianople [now Edirne] & its environs taken by time, eye, compass & aneroid': showing rivers, place names and roads. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Surveyed by Lieutenant Herbert Chermside, Royal Engineers. Lithographed at the Intelligence Branch, Quartermaster General's Department, 1877. MS additions, coloured, marking terrain and forts. Signed Captain T Fraser, Royal Engineers, 29 August 1877.
