Ottoman Empire: Bulgaria. 'Eye Sketch of ground near Kadikeui & Johann Ciftlik (nr Rustchuk [now Ruse])': map showing rivers, high land, roads and Turkish positions. Reference table; note on aneroid heights. Scale: 4 inches to 4 miles. Compass indicator. Drawn by Lieutenant Herbert Chermside, Royal Engineers; lithographed by Harrison & Sons, St Martin's Lane. Printed version of an MS map enclosed in A H Layard's [despatch] number 1343, 14 November 1877.
