Map showing the positions of Turkish and Russian forces between Kars (Turkey) and Aleksandropol (now Gyumri, Armenia) on 1 October 1877, between 4 and 8 October, and 'since retirement... Oct 8th'; also showing rivers, high land, place names and roads. Reference table. Scale: 6.3 inches to 20 miles. Lithographed at the Intelligence Branch, Quartermaster General's Department. Initialled: W H M D. Printed version of an MS map enclosed in Henry Layard's [despatch] number 1284, 1 November 1877.
