These are the enumerators' schedules of the returns made by heads of households and include the names, age, sex and occupation of individual members of the population for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. In the 1841 returns ages of persons over 15 years were generally given only to the nearest five years; in 1851 exact ages were returned. In the 1841 returns it is noted whether, or not, persons were born in the same county as the return, or in Scotland, Ireland or Foreign Parts. In the 1851 returns the parish and county of birth are normally given.
