Description

English Channel. Two copies of 'The New Sea Map [of the] Chanell Betwext England et France'. Title (also in Dutch, French and Spanish) in ornate cartouche at lower right. Scale: 18 cm to 20 English and French leagues; scale also in Dutch and Swedish miles, and in Spanish leagues. Two compass roses with rhumb lines. By Joannes van Keulen, Amsterdam at the 'gekroonde Lootsman'. Published by G van Keulen.
Johannes van Keulen's son Gerard published a sea atlas, Flambeau de la Mer, in 1728; this chart may have been printed for inclusion in that work.
