Description

(3) Key to (4), apparently drawn up by the commissioners, who state in a note at its head that they viewed the ground and collected evidence on 26 March, 30 Elizabeth I. (4) Plan to show 'Meane Marsh' and lands in Drayton (Oving) and Merston: hedges, boundaries and boundary markers, trees, fields, streams, roads, crosses, earth pits; land ownership. Houses, pound, gates, barn next to 'Bartlett's house', in simple elevation. Surrounding villages denoted by churches (faint) and text label. No scale shown. Solid black border: traces of penned gridlines, with numbers (largely obscured) in border. Cardinal points: oriented to the south. Stamped with Treasury stamp.
