Map no 1: 'Lancashire County Council. British Electricity Authority, North Western Division. Blackstone Edge to Penwortham, with branch to Carrington (Cheshire)'. Reproduction of a number of Ordnance Survey sheets joined to show area between Burnley, Manchester, Preston and Wigan. Labels affixed to the original indicate local authorities. Compass indicator. Produced by U Aylmer Coates, County Planning Officer, 19 March 1954. Coloured MS additions show proposed route of the 275,000-volt transmission line as submitted; alternative route; route as approved; route of existing 132,000-volt transmission line. Reference table to additions.
