Reproduction of Ordnance Survey one-inch map sheets joined to show area of Lancashire between Preston, Wigan, Manchester and Burnley. Coloured MS additions show routes of power line between Carrington and Turton, as existing, as proposed by the British Electricity Authority, and as proposed by the Borough Engineer, Bolton. Originally enclosed in letter of 24 June 1953 from D M McKellan, Borough Engineer, Bolton, to B L Heighway, Senior Wayleave Officer, British Electricity Authority.
