Sierra Leone, French Guinea (now Guinea). 'Map of Anglo-French boundary near Sierra Leone': also showing settlements in the area between the Great Scarcies estuary, Sumbaraya and Mount Tano. Reference notes; table of latitudes and longuitudes of various places. Surveyed by Major Kenny CBE, Royal Engineers; lithographed at the Intelligence Division, War Office, November 1894. Inset: 'General Position of Sierra Leone' outline map; scale: 1:4,000,000. Coloured overprinting shows the line of demarcation under the agreement of 21 January 1895. (Signed) Phipps and Crowe (British plenipotentiaries) and Benoir and Haussman (French plenipotentiaries). Originally filed with the agreement as an enclosure to a print of despatch number 64 from the Foreign Office to the Colonial Office, 8 February 1895 (confidential print African (West) number 481, published 22 October 1895). An annex to the agreement states: 'Although the delineation of the line of demarcation on the map [...] is believed to be generally accurate, it shall not be considered as an absolutely correct representation of that line until it has been confirmed by future surveys.'
