Palestine: 'Haifa Oil Installations'; plan of harbour and industrial area, showing oil installations, main water supply, airport, hospitals, police station. (The area shown is now in Israel.) Scale: 2.6 inches to 1,800 yards. Printed by Geographical Section, General Staff, 1945. Inset: 'Map showing Kirkuk - Tripoli & Haifa Pipelines.' (The area shown is now Cyprus, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Syria and parts of the neighbouring countries). Coloured overprint indicates installations which the Ministry of Fuel and Power considered of vital importance. To illustrate report of the Official Committee on Palestine, entitled 'Palestine: Protection of Haifa Oil Installations' (Cabinet Defence Committee paper DO (48) 28, of 12 April 1948).
