Over-printed title: 'Top Secret Map Attached to J.P.(46)66. Coloured over-printing shows islands where the United States requires joint bases and exclusive bases, British trans-Pacific cable route, Empire trans-Pacific air route, possible future alternative trans-Pacific Empire air route. Overprinted legend. To illustrate Chiefs of Staff report, 'U.S. Request for Bases' (Cabinet Defence Committee paper D.O. (46) 59 of 16 April 1946).
