Description

Middlesex. (20)-(23) 'Uxbridge H/T Cable': 4 similar maps showing roads, buildings, a canal and a railway line; item 20 also showing the proposed route of an underground cable. Compass indicators to all items. Based on the Ordnance Survey 1:2500 County Series sheets Middlesex 14.3 and Middlesex 14.4. (24) 'Uxbridge H.T. Transmission Line': printed map of the same area as items 20-23, showing similar details. Drawn by L Price; checked by Lieutenant H I Waton, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Different MS additions, coloured, to each item, showing various proposals for the route of a high-tension electric cable; further additions to item 24, marking proposed Urban District roads. Item 24 signed: J Wrestler, 4 March 1918. Dimensions: (20) 31.5 cm x 50.5 cm; (21) 22.5 cm x 49 cm; (22-23) each 23 cm x 49 cm; (24) 25 cm x 51 cm.

(21) Originally illustrating a minute from H I Waton, DWB, to DL [?Director of Lands] 3b, 9 August 1921. (22) Originally enclosed in a letter from the Major-General in charge of Administration, Eastern Command, to the Secretary, War Office, 24 May 1921. (23) Originally enclosed in a letter from the Deputy Chief Valuer and Compensation Office to Mr James, 43 Cowley Road, Uxbridge, 4 December 1918. (24) Originally illustrating a minute from Archibald Thompson, DL [?Director of Lands] 3b, 7 August 1918. All originally in file EASTERN8/6794.
