Description

[To Secretary St John] from Ormonde: Dunkirk and its forts are now occupied by the queen's troops. His troops have been refused entry by the [allied] commandants of Bouchain and Douai. Prince Eugene and the deputies of the states [general] have sent Count Nassau Woudenberg to dissociate themselves from these actions. He encloses a copy [SP 87/7/41] of the count's instructions. Ormonde's ultimate destination is Bruges. He encloses a letter from Prince Eugene [SP 87/7/42] to the council of state of that city. Dated at camp at Fleurival. ff. 73-75
