Marlborough to St John: the French are claiming that the allies violated the terms of surrender of the garrison. He encloses a letter from Villars [SP 87/6/125], with accompanying memorial [SP 87/6/126], his answer [SP 87/6/127] and memorials by General Fagel [SP 87/6/128] and Colonel de Pagnies [SP 87/6/129]. The siegeworks are levelled but the town is still being repaired. Dated at camp near Bouchain. ff. 261, 262
