Extract from the register of resolutions of the states general to inform the deputies with the army that it has been represented to them by the ministers of the czar, the king of Poland and the king of Denmark that because of the need to act against Swedish troops in Pomerania, the three Saxon battalions should be withdrawn from the low countries and no recruits be sent. The deputies should communicate this to Marlborough so that he can have the three battalions followed should the king insist on recalling them. It will be represented to the king that the season is so advanced that the troops would be of little use to him, and that he now has the protection of the czar. The allies in the low countries are however engaged in a difficult siege and are outnumbered. The deputies are to ask Marlborough to write to the king to this effect. ff. 255, 256
