Marlborough to [Major General] de Seissan: he congratulates him on the success of his visit to England and hopes that affairs in Vienna will soon be settled enough for him to join the duke of Savoy. The death of the emperor [Joseph I] has put an end to negotiations with the duke. The marquis de Bourg will tell Seissan what Marlborough has written to him. In the matter of the [French] defectors, the Dutch will have to pay their share. Dated at camp at Warde. ff. 97, 98
