Marlborough to the duke of Savoy: Major General Seissan has returned to The Hague from England. His visit was a success, and the queen will concur with what the duke considers best for the common cause. But this depends on what has been decided in Vienna, which he does not know, as Palmes's journey has been interrupted by an attack of gout. He hopes that the duke is entirely satisfied with the outcome, and will place himself at the head of his army when the season permits, for there was never greater need of him. He asks the duke to send him his wishes on the subject, and whether he should send Seissan to him. Dispositions of the army and the French, and his fears that imperial troops may be withdrawn. Dated at camp at Warde. ff. 95, 96
