Marlborough to St John: arrangements for the deployment of Palatine and Saxon forces. Naval negotiations of Sir James Wishart. Engagement of foreign troops to replace the five battalions withdrawn. Impracticality of using Saxe-Coburg troops, as they demand levy money. He encloses a copy of a resolution of the states [general] [SP 87/6/17], for the instruction of Mr. Pulteney. He also encloses [a letter and] memorials from Count Grumbkow, emissary of the king of Prussia [SP 87/6/18-20]. He does not expect to see Lord Raby until the end of the week. Assembly of the army and the difficulties in providing for the imperial and Palatine troops. Dated at The Hague. ff. 27-31
