Description

Marlborough [to St John]: in his last joint letter with Lord Townshend he did not mention the 8,000 Prussian troops for Spain; he has written to Lord Raby on the subject but cannot expect an answer yet. He encloses Raby's previous letter [SP 87/5/161]. Prince Eugene has delayed his departure for Vienna because of the difficulties with the subsistence of the imperial troops. Letters from Paris suggest King Charles [III] may winter in Castille. He encloses a letter from d'Alegre [SP 87/5/157]. Dated at The Hague. ff. 326, 327
