Marlborough to St John: he encloses a letter from the governor of the castle of Milan which purports to contain great secrets, but is suspicious of the writer and says that the queen must on no account touch it. He also encloses a copy of the provisional treaty he has signed with Prince Eugene for the 2,000 German recruits for Barcelona. Progress of the siege, which is being impeded by bad weather.
