Adam Cardonnel to [Robert] Pringle: an intercepted letter sent by Marlborough to Sunderland for deciphering. He does not think the 3,000 imperial troops to be sent from Italy to Barcelona should be in the queen's pay. He encloses an extract of a letter from Marlborough to Chetwynd in Turin, stating that the German troops for Barcelona are to be transported with the utmost economy. When troops were transported from Genoa, they spent a long time on shore at the queen's expense. Dated at The Hague. ff. 128-130
