Marlborough to the earl of Sunderland: he is surprised that Briançon should be soliciting in London for the imperial army to winter in Savoy, when His Royal Highness [the duke of Savoy] tells him and Prince Eugene that it could not subsist there. He encloses a letter from the duke to Count Maffei [SP 87/5/50]. Capture of a redoubt and placing of a new battery. Another [third] convoy of artillery has arrived from Brussels. The siege is hampered by the rains. Dated at camp at Havre. ff. 103, 104
